1. Make some onion-garlic milk.
This one might seem a bit gross, but onions can effectively help to cure a cold, a cough, a high fever, and a sore throat. Finely chop 3 small onions and a half-head of garlic, put them in about one liter of milk, and warm it up. Cook the mixture until everything is soft, then remove it from the stove, and strain it. You can add some honey to it, to improve the taste.
2. Pineapple juice
Pineapple contains an element called bromelain, that has strong anti-inflammatory properties. Pineapple juice can reduce mucus in the throat and can relieve a cough. Though, sometimes just the juice itself might not be enough to remove this. In this case, you can add a little bit of ginger and honey to the juice. Just make sure that your child is not allergic to pineapples before using this method.
3. Ginger wrap
This powerful remedy is easy to make with ingredients that are usually present in any household. You need to combine a little bit of flour, honey, and olive oil, with one tablespoon of ground ginger (or ginger powder). Put some of the mixture on a napkin and apply it to your child’s chest using a bandage. Apply about 3 hours before bedtime.
